We use trapping, harassment and habitat modification to control pigeons.
General Information: The pigeon or rock dove is the number one bird on the hit list in America. These birds were brought over from European immigrants as pets in the nineteenth century. Habitat includes urban areas and farmland. Damage occurs locally anywhere they roost and or nest. There are numerous diseases associated with this pest bird. Pigeons carry pigeon ornithosis (psittacosis) encephalitis, newcastle disease, toxoplasmosis, salmonella food poisoning and other diseases. Histoplasmosis, a fungal disease that can infect people, can be contracted when cleaning up accumulations of dusty pigeon manure. Pigeon ectoparasites such as mites, fleas, ticks, and bugs may readily bite people. Pigeons are also considered a hazard around airports.
